“Art Through Caliber”: CSTU Design Department Joins Charity
Fair Marking Ukrainian Volunteer Day
Faculty and students of the Department of Graphic Design, Fashion, and Style at Cherkasy State Technological University took part in the charity fair “Art Through Caliber,” held to mark Ukrainian Volunteer Day. The event was organized by the Cherkasy Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the regional branch of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine.
The CSTU participants presented original works, including hand-painted shell casings and jewelry pieces. All proceeds from the sale of the artworks—on display from March 13 to 22 at the Cherkasy Art Museum—will be directed toward supporting veteran athletes of the Russian-Ukrainian war from the sports club MSK Dnipro.
After March 22, the remaining works will be exhibited at the Gallery of Folk Art of Ukraine and made available for online purchase.
The project brought together faculty members and students of the department, including Associate Professor Tetiana Kasian and Senior Lecturer Olena Halytska, along with a group of student artists. Prospective applicants—participants of preparatory courses—also contributed by creating painted shell casings, demonstrating early engagement with the university’s creative community.
Master’s students of the Graphic Design program developed the project concept and coordinated its implementation, simultaneously strengthening their teaching and project management skills.
